Summary

This was my last week using twitter for this class and I will, without a doubt, miss it greatly. I learned a lot about the power that social media has to advocate for a cause and I will continue to use the platform. This week, I started by making my final five posts about what I learned from this class. Some of the key takeaways were learning how to properly conduct research, interesting facts/problems about wolves, and the significance of multimedia writing.

This would be my favorite post because of how it was my last post and how it portrays the importance of multimedia writing. It made sense to end my run on Twitter with a post that explains how useful the writing style we used for the course can be. Overall, I learned a lot from this class and it will definitely assist me in my future writing needs.

I also responded to some classmates for the last time for this course. I wanted to learn more about what my peers learned as well as some solutions for their advocacy projects. I replied to Derek Liu's post on how he learned the importance of research and how to simplify it for the general audience. I also learned this because much of the research articles contained very complex terms which I was able to simplify in my writings. I responded to Giselle Gin's and Juliana Granillo's posts about the importance of animal shelters for their solutions. I found their solutions to be interesting as they suggested pet-seekers to adopt from shelters because pet stores often mistreat their animals. I responded to a couple more classmates and had a fun time learning about different solutions to different problems.

I ended the week with following five accounts centered around my field of study: data science. I followed Kareem Carr who is currently a phd student at Harvard studying statistics. I really enjoy his posts and how he uses humor and statistics to portray information. I also followed Kaggle which is a large organization for data scientists to come together. I believe I can make some valuable connections with this account!

Special thanks to Professor Haas for making this course very interesting and enjoyable!
